Donald Whorley, a CWC Year 2 Fellow, made waves throughout 2023!
Since joining our program in 2022, Donald has consistently been one of our most engaged Fellows, seizing every opportunity that comes his way.

At the start of the year Donald participated in our new program, CAMP SKIMS X CWC.
CAMP SKIMS was a virtual workshop where CWC fellows can learn from SKIMS industry leaders and CWC leaders in fashion.
That same spring Donald was selected as one of the three Fellows to attend Formula One’s Miami Grand Prix weekend sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger in May 2023. This exclusive event allowed him to meet Awake NY founder Angelo Baque and Formula One icon Lewis Hamilton.

In May of 2023 Donald was alerted that he had been one of 6 students selected to be a part of URBN’s groundbreaking apprenticeship program with Drexel University. Despite having a full ride scholarship to study fashion at Kent university in Ohio, Donald saw this opportunity as a better fit for his future.
The URBN X Drexel Apprenticeship program, based at URBN’s headquarters in Philadelphia, offers students the unique chance to simultaneously work and pursue free courses at the university.
This program is meant to break down the barriers of getting into the fashion industry, providing students with an alternative method aside from attending a four-year fashion program.

Apprentices in the program have the flexibility to choose between continuing their studies or working at URBN after the two-year apprenticeship.
With the program kicking off about four months ago, we caught up with Donald to learn how the program is going and what his experience as a URBN apprentice has been like.
